Play Instigator

Wacky Wombat Entertainment has serviced East Gippsland & surrounds for the past 9 years & have built a brand that keeps events rebooking, with the knowledge of the standard we create.

Our play instigators are the key part in creating a fun and engaging experience at our events transporting attendees to a ‘state of play’. Engagement is what makes Wacky Wombat Entertainment stand out, while maintaining a safe and clean environment ready for play.
We are looking for Junior and Senior Play Instigators
Play Instigator: Senior
Create a fun and engaging environment at events
Rapport building
Maintain a safe environment
Ensure safety of children
Bringing people together
Crowd control
Authoritative: ability to set boundaries in a friendly manner
Manage junior staff
Key Resposibilities
Pre Event & Event Set up
Setting up jumping castles & game’s area at events
Prepare activity kit/props; check cleanliness and maintenance check
Complete risk management checks
Communication with clients before & on arrival
During the event
Welcome families, set expectations (rules, safety, schedule).
Manage behavior with calm authority; maintain child-safe boundaries.
Re-setting of equipment ready for use throughout the event
Keep attendees engaged & ensure continued play
Maintain a professional representation of Wacky Wombat Entertainment
Maintain clean, tidy spaces
Post event
Clean and Pack down of equipment
Report any damage, incidents, or supply needs
Evaluation (what worked, improvements, client feedback).
Outside of Events
Maintenance & cleaning equipment
Required skills/experience
Working With Children Check
Experience working with children
Strong Communication skills
Confident speaking to groups; clear instructions and positive behavior guidance.
Reliable, punctual, and organized.
Physical capability for active facilitation
Ability to follow processes and procedures
Driver’s license + reliable transport.
Confident towing trailers or willing to learn
Must be capable of heavy lifting
Desirable but not essential
First Aid/CPR
Performing experience
Experience working with children (parties, OSHC, teaching, coaching, childcare, youth work, performance).
Availability expectations
MUST be available Friday, Saturday & Sundays in peak season
Preferable available on public holidays, school holidays etc.
On-going clear communication about availability through our staff portal.
